Roll on June!29 May 2007
Biting north winds and occasional heavy showers including hail(!) marred the latter half of May for many Caithness trout anglers. Trout remained deep and dour which was extremely disappointing after such a promising start to the season. Few fish were seen never mind caught on the Reay lochs and of the lochs that did produce fish Calder fared best in terms of productivity. Watten and St Johns have yet to really get moving though the specimen hunters ahve caught a few and the hill lochs have been patchy. Things as they say can only get better. Roll on June!
